| The Product Saver leg brackets
must be welded to storage tank or bolted to a concrete pad so there
is always a gravity flow into the system. There must not be traps
in the piping to the system. The function of the storage tank water
draw-off valve must be inspected before installation of the Product
Saver system to verify the fluid flow can be controlled. Piping
and components ahead of Product Saver must be compatible with petroleum
products.
The Product Saver must always
be completely emptied after each application. Sight glasses should
be cleaned periodically to assure proper visual control. Manual
pump handle may be reinstalled at any angle for pumping convenience
by removing the external lock nut from the pump shaft.
Vent must always be clean of any
foreign debris. All valves should be periodically serviced to
assure their proper function. Diffuser unit may be periodically
cleaned by removing diffuser cap on opposite side of tank inlet,
and removing any foreign debris that may impair the flow through
the product saver.
Operation Instructions
1. Check gauge glasses for breakage.
Check gauge glass stop valves to be sure they are open.
2. Close all valves.
3. Open tank water draw-off valve.
4. Open 2" ball (or gate)
valve into Product Saver tank and fill to top by observing sight
gauges.
5. Close 2" ball (or gate)
valve to Product Saver
6. Allow water and product to
separate into layers and stabilize by observing sight glasses.
7. Open 1 1/4" water drain
valve and discharge water until product level reaches the bottom
the sight glass assembly. Close water drain valve.
8. Start pump and return remaining
oil back to storage.
9. Repeat steps 4 through 8 as
often as necessary until water in storage tank is completely removed.
10. Shut storage tank water draw-off
valve until next service period. Open 2" Product Saver valve
and
1 1/4" water drain valve
and leave in open position wherever freezing temperatures are
a factor.
