Every McTighe Industries control
panel is custom designed and built in accordance with our specifications.
The panel shop is approved by Underwriters Laboratories and panels
can be UL listed as long as all the components of the control
panel are UL recognized. Contact McTighe if you are interested
in a UL listed control panel.
Panel enclosures can be built
to match any National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)
classification. The two most popular enclosures McTighe supplies
are NEMA 4 and NEMA 4/7. NEMA 4 enclosures are gasketed and designed
to protect the panel from weather and exclude water applied in
the form of a hose stream during cleaning operations, etc. NEMA
4/7 enclosures are gasketed and are designed to meet application
requirements of the National Electric Code for Class I, hazardous
locations (explosive atmospheres) as well as meeting the NEMA
4 requirements.
McTighe makes it easy for engineers
and architects to specify our controls. Control panels for a pump
that typically include panel disconnect, fuses, motor starter,
HOA switch, power on light and pump run light are classified as
a panel B. Control panels for an alarm that typically include
alarm horn, silencer and alarm light are classified as a panel
A. Combinations of the two are made by combining the two classifications.
For example, a control panel that is mounted in a non-hazardous
environment designed to control a water pump, and oil pump with
back-up level alarms for both is specified as a NEMA 4 control
panel A2B2.
McTighe can customize the control
panel to meet project requirements. Some of the many options we
can provide include, flashing strobe light, flashing pilot light,
auto-dialers, pump alternators, and PLC's (Programmable Logic
Controller).
Panels are typically mounted in
a building or remotely at the separator location on a post. For
above ground separators, McTighe can provide unistruts on the
separator for mounting the control panel.
Panel fronts and wiring diagrams
for the standard McTighe NEMA 4 control panel A and control panel
B are included following this page.
