| SPECIAL
CONFIGURATIONS - Rectangular |
| |
| McTighe
Industries engineering staff is involved in every step of completing
a successful oil-water separator installation from design, to manufacture,
to installation, to support. Each separator we sell is designed
to meet specific project requirements. Since the rectangular separators
are installed above grade and not subject to soil loading, there
are many different arrangements possible. This section will provide
information on some of the more common adaptations we can provide.
Do not hesitate to contact our office for other special applications. |

| A.
Solids Interceptor Compartment |
| |
| The solids
interceptor is typically used where a high loading of heavy solids
and sand is expected and no other means of grit removal is provided
before the separator. This can include vehicle washing facilities
and desert or coastal areas. One possible configuration of a solids
compartment is shown below. |

B. Automatic Water Pump-out
System
|
| |
|
Water pump-out systems are
required when site conditions prevent gravity discharge
from the oil-water separator or the separator is discharging
to a force main. Rectangular separators are a popular option
for groundwater remediation projects that require pumping
of the effluent to secondary treatment. McTighe can provide
the pump(s), control panel, level sensor, check valve(s),
and other accessories required for a complete package. McTighe
can supply submersible, top mounted self-priming, and flooded
suction pumps depending on discharge requirements.
