McTighe oil-water separators are
built to last. Our engineering staff verifies that the separator
coatings will withstand the known contaminants the separator will
experience. McTighe offers durable epoxies and polyurethanes for
interior and exterior corrosion protection. Contact McTighe for
coating recommendations to meet your project requirements.
For buried cylindrical separators,
there are two main corrosion protection systems we supply (fiberglass
composite tanks and cathodically protected tanks). Both come with
a 30 year limited warranty against external corrosion failure.
* The Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester
(FRP) corrosion protection systems we utilize are built in accordance
with UL-1746 Part II or Part III criteria. These FRP coated oil-water
separators do not require electrical isolation, cathodic protection
anodes or the monitoring requirements that are associated with
cathodic protection systems. The UL-1746 fiberglass coated separators
have independent third party approval of the corrosion protection
system which is required in some states.
* The cathodic protection system
we supply is the Steel Tank Institute Sti-P3* that typically consists
of an external epoxy or polyurethane coating and is provided with
anodes and electrical isolation fittings. McTighe includes a PP4
monitoring station with every Sti-P3* separator we sell. This
simplifies the monitoring of the anodes and only requires a voltmeter
to obtain a reading. Many of our competitors provide less expensive
monitoring stations requiring the customer to provide a separate
copper/copper sulfate reference cell.
See additional information on
fiberglass and Sti-P3* exterior corrosion protection systems following
this page. Contact McTighe Industries for information on alternate
interior or exterior coatings. We have coatings to meet industry
and military specifications.
